Hey!!!

Wat do u think of the gazal “phir usse mile” by Ghulam Ali?

I think it’s awesome. I mean did u listen to the lyrics?gosh they kill me!!!The effect is so intense.

Hats off to a brilliant lyricist and of course to Ghulam Ali himself for singing the gazal so beautifully.

the emotions evoked are so heart wrenching.I feel tht emotions come out best in a gazal. where the emphasis is on lyrics n vocals n less on music. The soulful melodious voice doesnt get drowned in the whirlpool of music.Consequently the gazal comes out best.

There is so much pain underlying each word he sings. “Phir usse mile jiski khatir badnaam huey…” Gosh doesnt tht hurt?Tht special person whom who have loved so much , but who unfortunately is the cause of ur “ruswaai”.

Those magical moments spent together in the moonlight, how they became the talk of the town. How they were degraded! Its nothing less than a sacriledge. How they became the cause of embarassment. How they were turned into an accusation against me.He didnt get any news of me but my “sighs” were sure to reach him.

I love the next stanza best where he says tht i didnt get any happiness frm u but watever heartache u have given me are nothing less than a reward.

Only a man who has loved n lost can understand the pain behind each word he sings. Thts y not everyone understands or appreciates Gazals.

Btw pls do check out the song if u havent. It’s too good a song to miss it.
